Lincoln’s impressive suite of advanced safety features, named Lincoln Co-Pilot 360, has been applauded by the IIHS for its effectiveness in helping drivers avoid collisions. The following are five excellent car safety features included in the suite. If you want to know more about them, you can always request a test drive at your local Lincoln dealership.

Pre-Collision Assist

As experienced a driver as you may be, you’d be hard-pressed to match Lincoln’s reaction times with the Pre-Collision Assist feature. Using sophisticated radar and camera technology, your Lincoln continually scans the road ahead, searching for potential collision threats.

If a pedestrian or another vehicle poses a threat, you’ll receive a clear collision warning. With Automatic Emergency Braking, your car can also apply the brakes as required to avoid or at least mitigate the severity of a collision.

Blind-Spot Information System

The blind spots on either side of a vehicle have always created a safety risk to drivers. With the Blind-Spot Information System, your Lincoln can detect and alert you to any vehicles coming into your blind spots, dramatically reducing this danger. While reversing out of a driveway or parking spot, the Cross-Traffic Alert feature uses similar technology to let you know if any unseen vehicles are approaching from either direction.

Rear View Camera

Backing up has never been easier with the Rear View Camera, which allows you to see everything behind you clearly on your instrument panel’s central display screen. You also have helpful audio cues and visual guidelines to help you maneuver precisely while reversing.

Lane-Keeping System

While driving at high speeds, accidentally drifting into a neighboring lane can lead to a serious crash. With the Lane-Keeping System, your Lincoln monitors the lane and road markers at all times.

It can notice if you begin to drift toward another lane and provide a clear warning. The system can even give you a little extra steering torque to help you get back into the center of your lane.

Auto High-Beam Headlamps

At night, sometimes drivers forget to dim their headlights when another vehicle is approaching. This creates the risk of temporarily blinding the other driver.

With Auto High-Beam Headlamps, your car detects oncoming vehicles and can turn your high-beam headlamps on and off at just the right moment. It can even detect rain, snow, or fog and turn off the high beams to ensure you have a clearer view of the road ahead.
