3. Shipshewana, Indiana 

If you’re looking for a great family vacation, you might want to consider a trip to Shipshewana, Indiana. Although it might be a longer drive (almost 3 hours) it’s still worth it considering there are many exciting excursions. This small, Midwestern city is home to auctions, shops, a flea market, and museums. In addition to the great local attractions, Shipshewana is home to a thriving flea market.

4. Lexington, Michigan 

If you’re looking for a little city break, you might want to consider visiting the village of Lexington, about an hour and a half drive from Detroit. Lexington is located on Lake Huron which makes for a relaxing getaway. Lexington is full of history that is even apparated today. It was first settled in the 1830s and was a hub for lumbering, early farming, fishing, and shoemaking.

Lexington holds all the charm that comes with being a small village: local history, community, and local events like the Lexington Independence day parade held in the summer. This tiny village is definitely worth the visit.
