The key to a long and healthy life for your Lincoln is regular maintenance. This ensures components are replaced before they fail and systems are tested to ensure they’re working correctly. As your Lincoln dealership, we want to tell you about some of the services on your Lincoln maintenance schedule.

Tire Rotations
Tire tread slowly wears down due to friction with the surface. As the tread becomes thinner, the tires can’t grip the surface, and this reduces performance and handling. Braking will take longer, and your Lincoln will use more fuel as the engine struggles to overcome the drag caused by the tire’s reduced surface grip.
While friction damage can’t be prevented, rotating your tires does protect against another type of damage. Each tire position generates a particular wear pattern on the tread due to the tire’s position, tire alignment, and the vehicle’s weight distribution. When we rotate your tires, we move each tire to a new position. This equalizes friction damage and allows the tire to wear down at a relatively even rate.
Battery Testing
Regular battery testing is essential. The battery provides the initial electrical charge that cranks the engine, beginning the combustion process that enables your Lincoln to move. The battery has a fairly short lifespan of only three to five years before it wears out and needs replacement. As the battery gets older, starting will become slower, and when the battery fails, the only way to move your Lincoln is by jump-starting it.
We recommend yearly testing, starting from your battery’s third year. Our technicians attach the battery to our computerized battery tester, which subjects it to various tests to determine its remaining power and electricity storage capacity. If your battery passes, we repeat the process in a year. If your battery is weak or failing, we can install a new one while you wait.
Headlight Replacement
Headlights are one of the systems that can be easy to overlook, but they’re critical for safe driving. Headlight bulbs, just like the bulbs in your house, slowly wear out. Dim headlight bulbs make driving at night difficult as they restrict your vision. In addition, a blown headlight is not only dangerous but also illegal, and you could receive a citation.
Bulbs have a very varied lifespan, ranging from 500 to 30,000 hours, depending on the type of bulb installed. We can easily test your bulbs and install replacements within minutes if required. We recommend replacing both bulbs, even if only one has failed. Bulbs are installed in pairs, so if one fails, the other is sure to also fail within a few days.
