The Lincoln dealer is more than just the place to go when you want to buy a new luxury vehicle. There are many types of Lincoln service you’ll find at the dealership, too. From general service to preventative maintenance, you can come to the dealer to get everything you need all in one place.

1. General Lincoln Service

Your dealer needs to perform a full service on your Lincoln every 12 months. Every other year, your car needs a major service instead. The technicians at your local dealership have the equipment and knowledge needed to perform both types of service.

During a full service, the technicians inspect approximately 80 components in your vehicle to ensure they’re in great condition. Parts that will be checked include the engine, brakes, gears, and throttle. A major service is even more comprehensive. Parts examined during a major service include the brake discs, spark plugs, and fuel lines, along with everything that’s examined during a full service.

2. Tire Care

You need to take care of your tires to maximize their lifespan. You do this by getting interim service on your vehicle. You should get interim service after every 5,000 to 7,500 miles. This is because after driving that much, the tires on a two-wheel drive vehicle need to be rotated. If you have an all-wheel-drive vehicle, then you should get a rotation every 3,000 to 5,000 miles.

Your dealer will perform other types of tire care, too. Your tread depth needs to be checked regularly to determine if you need a new set of tires. Getting wheel balancing and tire alignment services regularly also helps your tires last longer.

3. Oil Change

An oil change is another service you’ll get when you stop by the dealer for interim service. Most cars need their oil changed every 5,000 to 7,500 miles. However, this can vary depending on the age of your vehicle and what type of oil it uses.

Check your owner’s manual to see how often it recommends you get an oil change for your Lincoln. You can also talk to your technician about the oil change frequency they recommend based on your car’s age, the type of oil used in your vehicle, and your driving habits.

4. Battery Service

Your Lincoln’s battery is another component that’s typically checked during interim service. Your dealer needs to test your battery’s voltage and check its acid levels regularly. The technicians at your local dealership will also perform a battery load test to make sure the battery can charge properly. If you need a new battery, then you can get one at the dealer, too.
